An Electronic Distance Measurement (EDM) of Total Station is calibrated on an EDM baseline to determine instrument constants, errors and EDM accuracy.

A series of measurements on a baseline used to check the performance and reliability of the instrument and to assess its precision against specified standards.

Service Engineer(SE) collect instrument measured distance data in specified range and compare with high accuracy reference data (XL-80 data). If any deviation is found, SE do distance correction as prescribed in service manual by using EDM Base Line
